The Bovine Classic
Atascadero, California
Gravel
39 miles | 3,000 ft elevation | 36% gravel
The Bovine Classic, a gravel race out of Atascadero, California, is the perfect event to close out your cycling season. The event is mostly a ride (versus a race) with a few official timed segments, allowing you to really soak in the beauty of the Paso Robles wine region.
The Baby Bovine, the shortest of the four course options, has a little bit of everything packed into its 39 miles - nice roads (both gravel and pavement), a challenging climb up Kiler Canyon, fun miles through a winery, scenic rollers and some epic views!

In addition to a great route, the overall event experience was 10 out of 10. The communication leading up to race day was excellent, the aid stations were well-stocked, the course markings were plentiful, the post-ride meal and festival were top-notch.
