SBT GRVL
This premiere gravel event is an incredibly fun weekend, jam-packed full of activities! You can join a number of shakeout rides, listen to panel discussions, attend the film festival, participate in the hill climb costume contest and chat with your favorite brands at the expo. Additionally, you can explore the quaint, vibrant town of Steamboat Springs by dining in one of the many restaurants, perusing the charming shops or grabbing a drink on an outdoor patio.
On race day, there are 4 course options, all of which feature the renowned “champagne gravel” roads. If you’re there to race, the competition is fierce and fast. Or if you’d rather soak in the experience (hi, that’s me), there are a number of stocked aid stations and plenty of views to enjoy. The gravel riding truly lives up to the hype and I highly recommend you add this event to your bucket list!
Note: due to the popularity of this event, you must enter a registration lottery.
Hotel Recommendation
Residence Inn Steamboat Springs - located about 2 miles from downtown, this property was the perfect place to call home for the long weekend. The rooms are spacious and include a living area and fully equipped kitchen. They offer an adequate, complimentary breakfast and the free local shuttle has a bus stop right outside the hotel front doors (I highly recommend taking the bus as it runs often and you can avoid the headache of finding parking downtown). Or if you’d rather ride into town, hop on the bike path just down the street which will take you right to where all the event activities take place.
